This is a guide to choose a tank for the prologue and Act 1.

Prologue(Maze)

To start this guide is for naysayers saying you can’t get enough AC at any point in the game.

Seelah:

1 Paladin/1 Witch

Base AC: 10

Dex AC: 1

Dodge(Starting Feat): 1

Shield Focus: 1

Armor(Crypt Raider’s Armor): 6

Heavy Shield: 2

Cat’s Grace(Potion from Wenduag): 2

Barkskin Potion(Found in Maze there are 2): 2

Defensive Stance: 2

Witch Hex(Iceplant): 2

Familiar(Lizard): 1

Ring of Protection +1: 1

Camellia with 2 levels shaman for Evil Eye Hex: 2

For a grand total of 31 AC and 33 if you keep Camellia a shaman.

Armor(Mage Armor): 4

Buckler: 1

Cat’s Grace(Potion from Wenduag): 2

For a grand Total of 32 with a conditional of Evil Eye for 34 AC.

As can be seen our 2 ranged damage dealers have the potential to be the best companion tanks for the Maze without MC intervention.

With this you should have a sense of how you can make a high enough AC tank to survive early and late without needing your main character needing to step in and be a tank.
